Close e-commerce accounts
If the deceased used websites or apps to shop, transfer or delete those accounts to avoid any unnecessary bills.
Saved payment information may be used fraudulently and results in extra expenses for the estate and work for the executor.
Pending and upcoming orders should be cancelled and recurring payments should be stopped.
If you plan on returning any recently purchased goods, consider waiting to close the associated accounts until after refunds have been applied.
Delete all credit or debit cards from the accounts as well to avoid future use.
