Legator

A legator is a person or entity who inherits a specific item, sum of money, or property as outlined in the deceased person's Last Will and Testament.

The term may be used informally to refer to the person leaving the legacy in a will, also known as a Bequest.

The term Legatee refers to a person or entity designated to receive the personal property or Assets (not real estate).
