Honorarium

An honorarium is a payment or gift given to the officiant who conducts the service of a Funeral or Memorial service.

Though they may not ask for payment, it may be customary to provide payment, the amount of which is chosen by the Surviving Family.

If the service is organized by a Funeral Home, then the honorarium may be included in the price of their services.

Honorariums may also be given to musicians or other performers who provide music or other forms of entertainment during the service.
