Hearse
A hearse is a vehicle specifically designed to transport the body of a deceased person from a Funeral Home to a Cemetery or Crematorium.
Hearses are typically large, enclosed vehicles that have a partition between the driver and the rear compartment where a Casket is placed.
They often have a black exterior and may be adorned with curtains, tassels, or flower arrangements, depending upon the wishes, traditions and customs of the deceased and the Surviving Family.
Hearses are the lead vehicle of a Funeral Procession and are often used in conjunction with other vehicles, such as limousines, to transport family members and other guests.
Hearses are typically owned and operated by funeral homes and their service is purchased when planning the Funeral with a Funeral Director.
Also known as a Coach.
